PROFILE
Golf has been a part of my life since my youth, first getting a taste for the industry as a teenager working nights and weekends at the local course. Through my time on the course, I became interested in the detailed and scientific work that went into preparing the course for play each day. Always an eager student, I decided this interest would be a natural fit to study in college and left my home state of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree from Rutgers University.
Upon graduation, I landed my first Assistant position at one of the well-known greater Philadelphia clubs, Huntingdon Valley Country Club. This was my first introduction to historic clubs, immaculate course conditioning, and classic architecture. My early career also saw stops at Lookaway Golf Club and Berkleigh Country Club, before becoming the lead Assistant at Shackamaxon Golf Club in New Jersey, another quality classic course by A.W. Tillinghast. This venture only reinforced my principles of quality maintenance with a premium on playability.
After several successful years at Shackamaxon, I was honored with the opportunity to work at one of the nation’s finest clubs, Oak Hill Country Club. Starting as an Assistant, I had proven myself valuable to the club and was promoted to the East & West Course Superintendent. This role gave me the opportunity to play an integral part in the planning and preparation for the 2013 PGA Championship, which was an incredible experience and gave me extensive insight into course construction, event planning, and championship conditioning.
After the PGA Championship, I was hired as the Golf Course Superintendent at Greenwich Country Club, which is a Seth Raynor classic course and one of the oldest clubs in the country. During my tenure at Greenwich, I have worked with the membership to improve conditions to championship levels on a consistent basis. We have completed several renovations, implemented a new irrigation system for more efficient water management. Similarly for sustainability, we have added many native areas to reduce inputs in out of play areas for better conditions in play areas. I thoroughly enjoy working for Greenwich and the ability to work in the NYC MetGCSA area.
I continually study golf architecture, stay up to date on the latest industry trends, and strive to provide impeccable course conditions on a daily basis. My passion for golf has only grown since my career began and I look forward to many more years of success in the industry.
